Welcome And Opening Thanks
SPEAKER_00Thank you again, Pastor Randy, and thank you, the church. Thank you for all the other pastors that are not here. First of all, we wanna say thank you for our Lord Jesus Christ, our Savior, who gave us the opportunity to be here today, who connected us together. Uh,
Reading Deuteronomy Chapter Six
SPEAKER_00we're gonna open this scripture quick. We're gonna read in the book of Deuteronomy. I'm going to read the old chapter. I will read the old chapter. Now, these are the commandments, the statute, and the judgment which the Lord your God commanded to teach you, that you might do them in the land whether you go to possess it, that thou mightest fear the Lord thy God, to keep all his statute and his commandment which I commanded thee, thou and thy son and thy son's son, all the days of thy life, and that thy days may be prolonged. Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it, that it may be well with thee, and that you may increase mightily, as the Lord God of thy father has promised thee, and the land that flow with milk and honey. He, O Israel, the Lord our God, is one Lord. Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words which I commend thee this day shall be in thy heart, and thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when uh thou sit in thy house, and when thou walk by the way, and when thou lie down, and when thou rise up, and thou shalt buy them for a sigh upon thy hand, and they shall be a frontlet between thy eyes, and thou shalt write them upon the post of thy house and of thy on thy gates, and it shall be when the Lord thy God shall have brought thee into the land which is swear unto thy fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities which thou buildest not, and house full of good things, which thou feel not, and well dig which thou dig not, vineyard and olive trees, which thou planted not, when thou shalt have eaten and be full, then beware lest thou forget the Lord, which brushed thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, thou shalt fear the Lord thy God, and serve him, and shall swear by his name. You shall not go after other gods of the gods of the people which are round about you, for the Lord thy God is a jealous God among you, lest the anger of the Lord thy God be kind, kind all against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth. You shall not tempt the Lord your God as you tempted him and Masa. You shall diligently keep commandment of the Lord your God, and his testimony, and his statute, which he has commended thee. And thou shalt do that which is right and good in the sight of the Lord, that it may be well with thee, and thou may go in and possess the good land which the Lord swear unto thy fathers, to cast out all thy enemies from before thee, and the Lord has spoken. And when thy son asked thee in time to come, saying, What mean these test the testimonies and the statute and the judgment, which the Lord our God has commended you? Then thou shalt say unto thy son, We were Pharaoh's bond men in Egypt. And the Lord brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand, and the Lord showed signs and wonders and great soul upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh's and upon all his household before our eyes. And he brought us out from dance that he might bring us in to give us the land which he swear unto our father. And the Lord commanded us to do all this statute, to fear the Lord, our God, for our good, uh for our good always that he might preserve us alive. Yes, it is at this day, and it shall be our righteousness, and if we observe to do all these commands before the Lord, our God, as he has commanded us. We thank God for the reading of his word and uh and the book of uh Deuteronomy.
The Message Title And Call
SPEAKER_00The title of the message today, God giving me, and I didn't know where I was going to preach to uh for a while. I just studied, I don't know where I'm going to preach, and then my wife, I was preaching to my wife, I was preaching to my wife because the church started at home, right? I preached to her, and then she called me. She said, Hey, babe, we got an invitation. And I said, Well, I was studied, the Lord made a way to deliver his word. And then I was invited to another place to preach last Sunday, and I preached that message God put in my heart. The title is today, church, remember where the Lord has brought you from. Remember where Jesus has brought you from. And we see the book of Deuteronomy is a book that we've by definition they call it the second law. The second law, which is the book beside the other law that God gave to the children of Israel, and now we have a new generation because the other group that were there already died, and Moses delivered this message and the plain of Moab and uh close to Jericho, the Jordan River, and it delivered the message to the children of Israel, which is a new generation, not the whole generation, a new generation, and with uh Caleb and Joshua among them.
How Jesus Uses Deuteronomy
SPEAKER_00And you see in the book of Deuteronomy that God, our Savior, Lord Jesus Christ, he quotes several scriptures from that book. One of them I heard this morning when I came in, the church was quoting that scripture, and he quoted scripture on bread. That men, when the devil, the tempter came to Jesus, they asked to turn the stone onto bread. And the book of Deuteronomy, uh chapter 8, verse 3, and he is showing in Matthew 4, verse 4, and he said that men shall not live by bread alone. We shall live by all, we live by the word of God, which is one scripture, Jesus quote. And you see another one that he quote again is on uh uh on testing God. Testing God, you found it in Matthew chapter 4, verse 6, and it is on Deuteronomy chapter 6, verse 16, and he said that uh we do not put the Lord your God to test. And then the other one that he he quoted again, which is on worship and worship services, when the devil came to him, he showed him the whole world. He said, Look at the whole world. If you come and bow down before me, I will give all of them to you. And the Lord Jesus Christ came with that weapon from the book of Deuteronomy, and he said that you should worship the Lord your God and serve him only. That's the only God we're not supposed to worship nothing else. He said, We worship the Lord our God, and the last one, which is the one this morning we quote here, which is a question they ask in Jesus What is the greatest commandment? And Jesus came and he said that thou shalt love uh reply, he said the With Shema, love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and with all your mind and with all your strength. And he said again, love the Lord your God with all your might, with all your soul, with all your strength. Love, love, love. You believe that love is the greatest commandment? Yes, I do. He said, The other one is love your neighbors as thyself. And if we look at in the book of Duduanami, how the Lord use it the most than any other book. And then when you look at today, I was reading it, and then I got that uh title in verse 12. Um, and verse 12 and the in chapter 6, verse 12, where we got the the the title, and he said that do not forget your God, do not forget, then beware lest thou forget the Lord, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt from the house of bondage.
Why Remembering Builds Faith
SPEAKER_00He said, Don't forget it, and there is something that we see we see in that scripture about forgetting. Why we remember what God has done for us, why we have a remembrance of where he brought us from. Number one, things that we see in it, it is increase our faith to trust God and the future battle. It's increased our faith stronger to believe God that what I am going to face in the name of Jesus Christ, I will be victorious. It's increased our faith, and it gives us more uh confidence that our Lord, our God is with us. Whatever things come in again against us is not about us, it's about God that will fight our battle. The battle is not yours, the battle is the Lord.
Caleb And Joshua Versus Fear
SPEAKER_00The fight is not yours, the fight is for Jesus, and that's why we look upon in the book of Numbers when the 12 spies went to search the land, God commanded them and said, Moses sent 12 leaders from the each tribe to search the land. When they came back, only two of them came with a good report. They were angry that they agreed together that the land has milk and honey, the land is prosperous, but there is the son of Anakar, the giant on the land. Let me tell you, there is no way we're gonna beat these people, there's no way we're gonna fight with them, we're gonna lose the battle. Panic everywhere in the congregation. Caleb got up, he said, The battle is the Lord. Joshua got up, the battle is the Lord, because if he did sign and wonders in Egypt, hallelujah! If he got us out from the bondage, if he crossed the Red Sea with dry feet, if he give us food, hallelujah! If he give us food to eat in the wilderness, and all these things he's giving into us today, we can win this battle, we can beat these people, and they were trying to stone them because of the lack of faith. I'm sorry about that. Thank you. Try to be more careful. Okay, you can put it this way. Yeah, put it in my pocket. Thank you. Thank you, brother. Yes. Thank you. All right. He said, sign and wonders happen in Egypt. Through all the wilderness, they need water, God gives them water to drink. But those things happen to keep them from to believe and trust God that is the one that will take them to the promised land. Not our strength, not how we know how to fight, not what we can do with our skill. It is all with our Lord and our God. When we have faith in God, church, there is nothing we need, we cannot receive it if it is the Lord's will. And faith comes by hearing, and by hearing the word of God. And the Bible said we overcame him by the blood of the land and by the word of our testimony. When you have a testimony every day, you remember what God has done for you, and you always encourage He will do more for you. And you remember that it's not on you, it's all about Jesus Christ. There is some difficulty, time where you need help. And uh a prayer that God answered. It could be like when you are weak, you need strength and God strengthen your body. When you are struggling with something, you need deliverance and Jesus delivered you. When you are not expecting something coming to as a provision and it showed up, those things confirm you that God is with you. He will never leave you, never forsaken you. He will always be with you no matter what you're going through.
A Cancer Diagnosis And Prayer
SPEAKER_00Not too long ago, as a testimony, I have a friend of mine, a good brother. We go to mission all the time. We do mission work to Haiti, to Dominican Republic. This year and may be diagnosed with cancer. And the cancer he diagnosed was leukemia cancer, which is his body doesn't make any platelets, any white blood cell. And the doctor told him he gave him four weeks to live. Four weeks to live. And the four weeks to live, he got two options. The first option, he can do chemo because he's 65 years old, but everybody with 65 years old, one percent of them make it through chemo, they die. And the second option is to go home on aspice and they cut for care, and you can die easily. What the news? That's just like the the 10 spies, you know, the 10 spies, there's no hope. But church, remember, our God still God. When we heard the news, I was emotional. Everybody was emotional, but there is uh uh a God we can turn to when we are facing trial and tribulation. The old church, our church praying, friends, and everywhere we call him praying, but we have faith. We said that if it is not the Lord's will for him to die, he's not gonna die. And guess what happened, church? We pray. First thing God did, God took him away from that crazy doctor who gave him that news. Church, are you with me? God move him from the hands of the doctor. Sometimes it's not the cancer that killed the people, it's the doctor that makes them afraid, fear, and cause them to die. David said, The Lord is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid? And he moved him to a different hospital, a different doctor. We pray with him, and the church pray, people pray, and the doctor said that on the first chemo, we're praying that God turned those side effects into the positive effect. And every chemo he takes, let me tell you, church, it wasn't that bad. He had those little bits of side effects, but it wasn't a big effect. And after a month that the doctor told him to live, his body starts making blood, uh, white blood cells again. His body starts making platelets again. And right now, he's in the process of healing. God making a way for him. God is in body, God deliver him. This is what our God can do, church. Our faith in God will take us to the promised land, not our strength. Our faith in God will heal your body, not the doctor only, not the next. It can use the nurse, it can use the doctor, but God is the greatest physician in the world because he formed his body. And there is another thing that you can receive when you remember where God brought you from.
From Haiti To The United States
SPEAKER_00And I want to give that testimony for myself. I was 23, 24 years old, and just finished high school. I ain't got no job, nothing. And I have a passport in Haiti. Where with the passport I have, I don't have nothing. No checking account, no job, no nothing. And I feel like God said, I'm gonna bring you to the United States. Church, let me tell you, I tell people, I'm going to United State. I say, Are you crazy? Are you losing your mind? Because to come in the U.S., you to get a U.S. visa in Haiti, you got to have, number one, you got to have a J O B, a job. You got to have a checking account, not ordinary checking account. It's got to be US dollar and Haitian good. And you got to be buried, you got to have a house, you got to have so many other things I can't even remember because there were too many. I was not qualified for one of them. I was not qualified for one of them. All I have is that passport. But when men say you're not qualified, Jesus said you're qualified. Jesus can qualify you. Jesus can make you to do things extraordinary that men cannot do. Because he said, all is possible to him that believes. All we have to do is believe. And when I went to church, I went to get the visa. I told people, I'm going to the US, I'm going to the make fun of me. And when I went, let me tell you, Jesus lifted me up. Love lifted me, like this song said. Love lifted me. Love brings Me up and I went. I got a visa for five years. And I came back, everybody was amazing. God get the glory. I didn't get the glory. Jesus Christ get the glory for what He has done for me. We serve a mighty God and He brought me to the U.S. And the other thing, church, we look at when we look where the Lord brought us from.
Poverty Memories That Spark Gratitude
SPEAKER_00Because when I was a child, I didn't have nothing. I go to bed hungry. You know, you see kids today in America, they're not thankful for the uh bagel you give them. They want McDonald's, they want Chick-fil-A, they want this, they are picky. But when I was a child, whatever thing I got, I just grab it. I just grab it and eat it because I was desperate for food. My family has 10 children. All 10 of us. Sometimes all of us cannot go to school at the same time because my father didn't have enough money to put 10 children in school. He didn't have enough money to give all of us food to eat. Sometimes I remember I go to bed hungry and I wake up hungry with nothing. And I still have to go to work. I still have to go to school. Sometimes we live on mangoes. You know, mangoes, fruit, and all those banana stuff like that. We can live on those stuff. But to have a big plate with um uh chicken, you can have chicken steak, you can have turkey, you can have all kinds of meat. We didn't have that. God took me out from those situations. And right now, I'm thankful for the running water because when I go to take a shower, I just turn that thing up and the water comes over my head. And I can turn it to if I want warm, I can get warm water. If I want cold, I can get cold water. If I want anything, I can get it. But back home when I'm growing up, I just have to jump in the waver. Whether the waver is dirty and nasty, that's all I have. But today, God blessed me, He put me in a wealthy place. I said, Lord, if I forget everything, don't let me forget you. Use me for your glory, use me to preach your word, use me to be a testimony, use me to tell people that my God who brought me out of Haiti and put me on a wealthy place and bring me to the United States where I have everything I need, he's still alive, he's still on the throne. If he did it for me, he can do it for you. Whatever situation you're struggling with, just believe God, he will deliver you out of it. Whatever you struggle, whatever happened to your life and your family, broken hearted, just trust God for it. He will heal your heart, he will heal your soul, he will heal your family, it will save your children because the Bible says God is the same yesterday, today, and forevermore. He can do it again if he did it for me today, and that's why I have a passion church. You can understand when I keep going around begging people to help in Haiti, because I know where I came from, I know I was starving like these people, I know I didn't have clothes to wear on my body, I know I went to bed hungry and got up hungry.
Humility And Sharing Your Testimony
SPEAKER_00Another thing, church, that helping us when we look back where the Lord brought us from, and he gave us the spirit of humility, humbleness. You know, you humble in the book of Acts. You can go there, but I will tell you the story happened. Jesus finished to feed five thousand, he finished to take care of them, and the sunset, whatever time it was, he told his disciple, let cross over the river, the Galilee, the Sea of Galilee, or the lake of Tiberias. As soon as he got out of the boat, a young man, demon possessed, not only one demon, a bunch, and he came to him. Not the young man talking, it was the demon that was speaking to the guy. And Jesus coming, Jesus, don't torment us, the Son of God. And Jesus asked, What's your name? Legion. And Jesus said, Cast those demons out. And they went on this wine. You know the story. But one thing that gets my attention, you know what gets my attention after the healing? The young man said, Lord, after what you have done for me, let me follow you wherever you go. Let me go with you. Let me go over in the area I want to stick with you. There is stuff that God for me. I said, Lord, I don't want to go nowhere else. I am content. I have what I need. And the man Jesus said, Don't go with me. I want you to go back in your town. The town that's expelled you, the town that rejected you. I want you to go back there and tell them what Jesus has done for you. And tell them what God has done for you. Church, let me tell you, we must tell about our testimony. We must tell the goodness of God. We must tell wherever you are in your job, whatever things people are going through, be humble. Be humble, tell your testimony, and let people know that it's not me who bring myself this far. It is the Lord that do it. And another thing, church, that happened when we look back where God brought
Cultivating Daily Thankfulness
SPEAKER_00us from. Number three, he gave us an attitude of gratitude. You know, we are grateful for what God has done, and we start having the attitude, not only one day, but every day, because we look around us, we don't want to do anything against the God who have done it. We are thankful for it. And if you look in Psalm chapter 34, David, God has done so much stuff for David, but David has a thank-giving psalm. He wrote, he said, uh, I will bless the Lord at all times, and his praise shall continually be in my mouth. He said, My soul shall make her boast in the Lord, and the humble shall he thereof and be glad. And he called people to come join him. He said, Come and magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together, because God has done great things. Psalm 103, he said, uh, bless the Lord, all my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name, and forget not all his benefit, forget not all that he has done for me. Forget not whatever thing God has done, forget it not, and let me be thankful, let me praise him. One thing that we struggle in as a human being, we are struggling of gratitude or being thankful. We always want more, we always desire more because we want more, and we don't have time to thank God who has given us what he has done before. He's a merciful God, he's a wonderful God, he's a powerful God, and he gave us that attitude. And there is something that God, Jesus has done for you and I, church.
The Greater Promised Land Ahead
SPEAKER_00We are not, we were not in a slave in Egypt, but we were a slave in the darkness with the devil. Jesus came and set us free. Peter said, He brought us out of the darkness and he put us into the marvelous light. God is not bringing you from one place and leave you in the halfway, it doesn't get you there. It doesn't work like that. God will bring you all the way to the hand to the promised land. Today we don't have to worry about going to Canaan for the promised land, but we have a promised land which is greater than Canaan. That promised land is dead and gone. These people die, but when we go to the promised land which is going to be eternally, in Revelation chapter 21, he tells us about it that there is coming a new city from heaven, a new Jerusalem, a city of light. The person that will be the light in that city is the glory of Jesus Christ. And the song said, I will women see him. I want to see him with the nails of the print of the nails in his hand. I wanna worship him. Are you not excited you're gonna meet Jesus? Are you not happy you're gonna worship Jesus? Are you not happy you're gonna be with him forever and ever? Are you not happy you live in this world? This world is a mess, church. This world is upside down, but the new Jerusalem will have a great leader in that city. Every leader who took over on the country, they cannot fix the country. But Jesus will be the king in the new Jerusalem. Jesus will be there on the throne of David, his father. Jesus will be there forever. We will be with Jesus. I will see my mother who just passed away five years ago. I will see my father who pass away five years ago. You will see your loved one in the new Jerusalem. You will see your sisters, whoever you have, who die in Jesus Christ, who went there, you will meet with them again. The song said, Till we meet, till we meet, we're gonna meet at Jesus' feet. We're gonna meet at Jesus forever. We will worship Jesus. What a great hope do we have? This hope is the greatest than ever. Paul said, the Bible said, if in this life alone we have hope, we are the most miserable than anybody else. Our hope is not in this life, it is in the life to come.
Final Reminders And Blessing
SPEAKER_00Look where he brought me from. If you don't remember nothing about what I said, remember that Jesus died on the cross for you. Remember that Jesus hung on the tree for you. Remember that Jesus is coming back again for you. Remember just Jesus is with you. No matter what you're going through, he is with you. He is in you, he's in your situation. He took me out of the ditch, like the song said, He took me out of the mirror clay. He set my feet on the rock to stay. The rock is Jesus, and he put a song on my soul to sing, a song of praise, hallelujah, a song of glory, hallelujah. I thank God because I'm saved. I don't, I'm thankful for the United States, but God give me something greater than United States. What profited man to gain the whole world and lose your soul? There's a lot of rich people, billionaires, but they don't have Jesus. We can be poor and miserable, don't have a lot of money. If you have Jesus, you have it all. If you have Jesus, you have it everything. And if God gives Jesus to die for you, what else can he cannot do for you? He will do everything for us. We can't wait to meet with him because he died on the cross and he rose again on the third day. And that's what we have. That's the only hope we have. The same Holy Spirit who resurrected Jesus from the grave. He will resurrected me to be with my father forever and ever. Remember where the Lord has brought you from. Let us remember that He is with us. May God bless you today. I turn it to Pastor Randy. Thank you for the invitation. And I'm praying for you. You keep praying for you as well. Thank you.
